Isabella pulling herself on to the couch, letting herself down from the couch, and walking by holding only one of my hands
We're so proud of our little Isabella. This may be no big deal to anyone else, but we're tickled by what she's doing these days. Three things to note:
Unfortunately, with new adventures, boundaries must be set. My current task, with getting on the couch, is that she must not stand on the couch or lean over the back of the couch. Can we say dangerous?
Anyways, below are some pictures I took of her in action this afternoon.

- She's standing on her own, without holding or leaning on anything, for longer periods of time. 5-10 seconds this afternoon. Thought that was neat.
- She can pull herself on to the couch, which is pretty high. She used my leg for leverage, while I was sitting on the couch. She loves for us to sit next to each other. She'll put this huge grin on her face, seeing herself sit next to Mommy on the couch.
- She can gracefully get herself off the couch, feet first. I'm amazed, given that no one taught her how to do that.

Before I was pregnant, when I lifted weights, and before I had a digital camera
How about a blast to the past? In the summer of 2001, Troy and I participated in Missouri's Show-Me-State-Games Power Lifting Competition. I don't have any pictures of my third lift for dead lifts. However, on my third lift, without using any grips, I lifted 220 pounds. I weighed in at 119 pounds. Not bad, eh?

Good timing on the arrival of my permanent crown
While I was at my obstetrician's office yesterday, the dentist's office called to say that my permanent crown had arrived and was ready to be installed. Um, yay, how exciting. Well, it was good that it arrived before the baby, because after the baby joins the world, there's no guarantee I'll be able to go to the dentist's office really soon.
Was actually pretty nervous about them taking the temporary crown off, seeing how it had settled in pretty tightly several days after they put it in. Pleaded with the gal to be really gentle and patient with me. Gentle she was, mercifully and thankfully. The dentist who worked on me, Dr. Miller (who has a much better bed side manner than his work partner) wasn't too bad either. I'm sure the anesthetic helped. Needed it since he had to cut away some tissue (aack!) to get a crown into a more settled position. Though the appointment was a 4 o'clock, when everyone's tired and ready to go home, I was so thankful the dentist was very careful and took his time to clean the area thoroughly and make sure the crown fit perfectly. Took a little over an hour altogether. But, like I said, I very much appreciated the attentiveness and care with which he took care of my tooth and crown.
Due date for Changley baby #2 is this coming Sunday, Mother's Day!

Sitting on Mommy's lap
Don't look at me in this picture; I'm not looking very attractive here. Isabella, though, is being her usual cute self. She, of her own accord, likes to sit on my leg. Or, when she's sitting in front of me, while I'm reading to her, she likes to lean a bit on my big belly.
